Islam Class in Sendai #2

Praise be to Allah.

On March 30, 2019, Islamic Cultural Center Sendai (ICCS) arranged an event name “Islam Class in Sendai”. This was the second time we have arranged an event like this. As our first event, we have tried to present an Islamic scholar who has a piece of deep knowledge about Islam and also has an expended knowledge about Japanese language and culture. So, this time our Lecturer ‘Kyoichiro Sugimoto’ he is by born Japanese from Chiba and he is honorable Chairman of Chiba Islamic Cultural Center and what’s makes him unique that is, he translated The Holy Quran in Japanese. He is the Author of (“The Qur’an in Easy Japanese”).

The reason or purpose behind arrange an event like this, that is. We want to spread the knowledge of Islam, knowledge of the holy book QURAN to our Japanese society. Our event was fully in Japanese the reason; to make our event in Japanese is to remove the language barrier. Like all other linguistics people Japanese people don’t know Arabic, they have their own language, own culture, own sushi, own Sakura own habit’s, etc. on the other hand, AL-Quran is in Arabic. So for this reason or statistic, there is a language and culture gap in between. Alhamdulillah, our one-third guests were Japanese and our auditorium room was full.

This time our Topic was ‘What is written in the Qur’an?’

After living around 7 years in Japan I could say Japanese people don’t have enough knowledge about Islam, the Quran or Muslim fate. What I have noticed they don’t have enough knowledge about God or religion all they believe that is Japanese tradition or Japanese culture. All they know that is negative rumors about Muslim or Islam.

To get rid of those conjectures about Muslim and Islam we started DAWA activity to our friends, neighbors, coworkers and also it’s our very important religious duty.

The Quran instructs believers to:

“Invite (all) to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching, and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious. For your Lord knows best who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance” (16:125).
